Comparing the Dodgers to Star Wars Heroes

The Dodgers have had no significant news for while, so for the next two days I'll be comparing the Dodgers, and their nemeses, to Star Wars heroes and villains.

Cody Bellinger - Luke Skywalker. The all-powerful hero, destined for greatness, full of untapped potential. Bellinger has unlocked some of his potential, but, at age, 24, he is yet to become a Jedi Master. "The Force is strong with this one."

Clayton Kershaw - Obi-Wan Kenobi. One of the most powerful heroes, an idealist in a time of trouble. Kershaw pitches with old-fashioned skill, technique, and deception as opposed to blowing fastballs by hapless batters (see Buehler, W.). "A curveball. A more civilized weapon for a more civilized age."

Walker Buehler - Anakin Skywalker. The cocky, brash, and incredibly powerful Jedi waits for nobody. Buehler struts around with an unmatched air of confidence and has the stuff to support it, but his dominance remains inconsistent. Perhaps in 2020 he can lead the Dodgers to the World Series and then, at long last, bring balance to the Force. "You underestimate my power."

Max Muncy - Han Solo. Humble beginnings, surprising skill and usefulness, Muncy finds a way to get it done and runs his mouth while doing it. An injury replacement for Turner and Forsythe in 2018, Muncy stepped up and hit 35 home runs. Then he did it again. A consistent hero, Muncy legendarily roasted Madison Bumgarner, shooting Darth Vader out of the way for Bellinger to pull the trigger and win the MVP. "Go get it out of the Death Star."

Joc Pederson - Chewbacca. Incredible strength and unflinching loyalty. Pedersen doesn't need launch angle to hit balls out of the park and probably could rip somebody's arm out if he wanted to. His constant optimism in the dugout and fidelity to the team solidifies him as one of he galaxy's greatest heroes. "It's not wise to upset a Wookie."

Justin Turner - Master Yoda. A distinctive look, unmatched wisdom, and unprecedented finesse. Turner's beard has become an icon in Los Angeles. His leadership of the team is matched by no other and his baseball knowledge, strong veteran presence, and seniority in the clubhouse aid younglings from AAA. "When nine hundred years old you reach, look as good you will not."

Others: Kiké Hernandez - R2D2, Pedro Baez - Mace Windu, Kenley Jansen - Qui-Gon Jin, Alex Verdugo - Jar Jar Binks
